In Conversation with… Pragyanam Kumar, COO, Innvocon Learning Solutions Pvt Ltd.

What was the motivation behind your Start-up and what is your start-up all about?

I, along with my fellow co-founders realized during our graduation that there is a huge gap between ‘What we are being taught in our colleges’ and ‘What Industry demands’, and with this thought, ‘INNVOCON’ was born. 

We work on upskilling undergrads as per the industrial requirements through our ‘Workplace Learning Program’. Through this program, students get to work on real-time industry projects and are hence skilled as per their requirements. 

Post the program we also provide ‘Placement Assistance to our students and companies are benefitted in terms of Time and Money for Hiring. The vision is to help the students of colleges of Tier 2 and 3 cities who have the resources but not the opportunities. 

What are the challenges that you have faced during the Covid-19 pandemic?

As most of the existing start-ups are facing significant challenges and the major problem that we faced during the Pandemic was the collaboration and partnership with different colleges and companies.

 As I mentioned earlier, we try to bridge the gap between students by providing them real industry projects and because of Covid this was the major problem that we faced and things going virtually took us some time to cope-up with, but we overcome that problem and now we are fully-fledged working.

What were the financial challenges that you faced from the start-up at the outset?

Initially, we had a vision and idea but the main issue was to implement things correctly. Gathering resources and putting your ideas into reality need monetary support. As there was no initial seed and fund support and because of that we initiated being Bootstrapped. We started with scratch but now we are IIITD-IC, and NSCREL, IIM Bangalore Incubated.

How do you see your digital presence growing, keeping in mind the current scenario?

Since the Pandemic happened, we continuously focused more on our digital presence and awareness. We made our website live. Increased our social media presence on every social media possible including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We gained more followers and outreach with our continuous efforts.

What is your advice for emerging young entrepreneurs?

Throughout my whole Entrepreneurial journey till now, the most important thing to be kept in mind is to be dedicated and honest with your work. No matter how the circumstances are you have to adapt to it and welcome changes in plans if required. You have to make sacrifices but it’s worth for. And last but not the least, Team selection is very crucial.
