What was the motivation behind your Start-up and what is your start-up all about?

We are a hyperlocal platform to connect the waste producers (Individuals, households, organizations) to waste collectors (Kabadiwalas, collectors, recyclers) by leveraging AI, IoT, and IT for efficient business processes. Other Details: Kabaditechno was incorporated in 2018 and presently has a team of 9 core members and around 20 plus interns working towards a common goal of addressing India’s recyclable waste management challenge. A large part of our team consists of tech graduates, with multiple business administration graduates as well. We are a young team, with a few of our members pursuing their higher education in reputed institutes like IIM Rohtak ad NMIMS (Mumbai). Since incorporation, we have developed and maintained a platform (website) for offering our services (kabaditechno.com). We have also filed a provisional patent for an in-house developed collector vendor machine (CVM) that uses modern tech like Al, IoT, and Data Mining to collect E-waste and forecast future waste generation. Our indigenously-developed CVM is 75% cheaper than the existing alternatives in the market, which are typically imported from China. Using our chemical R&D team, we are working on a proprietary process (in the development phase) to optimize precious metal extraction from E-Waste.

What are the challenges that you have faced during the Covid-19 pandemic?

During this pandemic, many of the start-ups have to shut their services due to financial crisis and not getting investment. The challenges we faced was primarily many of our team members and their family members got infected with this virus due to which we have to hold our Website Restructuring and App development, as they were recovering from this, we continue to train some more interns to continue this process. We were ready to launch and start our operation in March 2020 we rented a warehouse for the same but due to the first wave of the pandemic, we have to drop the plan for launching. Even with such a difficult situation, we have thought to utilize the time which we got due to this reason and started to focus more on our Website and App restructuring and building a plan to come up with different marketing strategies before launching.

How do you see your digital presence growing, keeping in mind the current scenario?

We have come up with some plan actions to grow our presence digitally through social media marketing, local listing, and many other ways we have a dedicated team which is led by Shruti Mishra our vice president and as per current scenarios. We are doing research work so that we can come up with effective ways to do the same.

What is your advice for emerging young entrepreneurs?

I would like to advise the emerging young entrepreneurs with my 3 years of journey working in the field of waste management is that, make your idea or the solution which you are providing as your passion. Be patient and fully dedicated as the seed which is sown today will grow to a huge tree tomorrow you just have to give your best daily to water and nourish your plant. Keep in your mind the idea which you are working will somehow benefit your nation in terms of creating employment or any other social issues you are solving.
